I have covered a lot of ground so far this month.  You have been exposed to newer forms of marketing referred to as Pay Per View aka PPV and contextual based marketing. These alternative forms of non-google traffic sources are only the beginning. 

In my tests in the PPV marketing arena I have revealed that YOU CAN BRING A LOT of traffic to a website using this type of marketing.  However, whether or not that traffic will convert is still unknown.  I have not personally witnessed a satisfactory convergence ratio so I still cannot recommend you start using it until I can crack the PPV conversion formula.

Note: My plan was to next introduce you to another “newer” form of marketing involving facebook.  I was in the middle of doing my research when a bit of controversy landed on my facebook wall.  After I watched a video from Mike Klingler, I decided to take him up on his challenge.  Watch my video above for the story.

As the result of watching Mike Klingler’s webinar, I have decided to suspend my review/recommendation of Facebook advertising until I can put into context the nature of the “controversy”. For the record, it is NOT that I don’t believe that facebook advertising can deliver.   (I COMPLETELY DO) It has more to do with my belief that unless you are properly trained you should not be part of the “herd mentality”.  You should first have a complete understanding of the concept of being a unique internet marketer, branded in your passion and leading with value first.

A review of the My Video Talk platform. What’s the difference between COMF5 and My Video Talk?

First, they both do the basic of video email. At first glance, they may both look the same.

No longer should anyone be able to say that adding video to an email is too complicated. They are both powerful video emailing system that should allow anyone to send a video email. Both of these companies have made sending a video email very easy to do. Simply put, they both have made sending video a point a click operation.

First, let’s talk about MyVideoTalk.com.  I was given access to an affiliates account to see how the myvideotalk client performs.  I must admit that I was dsappointed to see that you must download a program called “install my video talk studio” before you can begin sending video emails.  In my experience whenever you ask anyone to download an application, you are just asking for bad things to happen. 

Not only, do you have to concern yourself about software problems based on various hardware and operating systems, there is also a fear what exactly am I downloading and how can it mess up my computer paranoia.

So, that is a big strike one against the MyVideoTalk.com.

So, moving along to the next area of concern regarding the my video talk platform.

Once, you are in the program you will notice a lack of marketing ability.

As of this review I was to locate any way to add a link or control the prominent image that is displayed on the bottom of every email that is sent out!

This is pathetic for people who want to only brand themselves and not feel as if they are in competition with the technology that is allowing them to brand themselves.  I remember the same thing once happened with VMDirect which was then known as helloworld and they made the same exact mistake. 

The company which is now called comf5 allows the user to control ALL aspects of the video email.  Not allowing the end user to control the icon on the bottom of every email is strike 2 against My Video Talk.

Finally, the lack of a tool that would allow you to create video autoresponders, marketing campaigns, web forms and landing pages is a major mistake.

Today’s internet marketers rely heavily on those types of features to be as productive as they possibly can be.  Not having those video technology services built into the design of the my video talk requires any user of the system to also have a bulk emailing service.

I am glad that Comf5 has some competition because that will definitely lead to better technology. Competition in our industry is a good thing. It keeps us all motivated, and on the look out for the next great marketing technological breakthrough. 

 So far, in my honest opinion, COMF5 is the way to go.
